Memorial Day: What's Closed, What's Open in Lakewood

Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day, and the three-day weekend means some places in Lakewood will be closed.

Here is a list of things you need to know:

CLOSED

• Government offices, including all federal, state, Pierce County and City of Lakewood
• Schools, including Clover Park School District, Clover Park Technical College, Pierce College and Tacoma Community College
• U.S. Post Office, UPS and FedEx
• Pierce County Library System
• Costco
• Most banks

• Recycling and Garbage Service: Normal pick-up schedule
• Pierce Transit: Local bus and shuttle services will operate on Sunday schedule (Offices closed; no phone service.)
• Lakewood Family YMCA: Building, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Most stores and restaurants will be open as usual
