Pierce County: Ferries' Online Ticketing System Mistakenly Rejecting Some Customers' Credit Cards

Pierce County has learned that a few customers have had their credit/debit card rejected during online ferry ticket purchases due to an "invalid expiration date." This is occurring even though the credit/debit card's expiration date has not yet been reached and even though the credit/debit card is accepted normally in transactions with other merchants.

Troubleshooting by the ticketing vendor is underway. At this time, the issue appears to be more of a bank payment processing issue than an online ticketing issue. Details will be provided when the root cause is determined.
