Suspect In Custody After Police Response Called To Pacific Ave S
A large police response was called to Pacific Ave S in the Spanaway area Tuesday afternoon.
LAKEWOOD, WA — A suspect is in custody after an incident that sparked a large police response Tuesday afternoon.
Though the issue is largely resolved, officers closed a large stretch of Pacific Avenue S during the arrest, which may contribute to lingering backups in the area.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, the incident was centered around the 14800 block of Pacific Ave, between Spanaway and Parkland.

Deputies say the officers had been called to negotiate with a man who was inside a vehicle but would not leave. At around 2:45 p.m., they confirmed the man had left the vehicle and been taken into custody.
Deputies were negotiating with a man inside a vehicle. He’s now in custody. Crews will work on clearing the roadway. More details to follow.

Pacific Avenue S was fully closed from 146th St S to 152nd St S for the police response, and will slowly begin reopening now that the situation has resolved peacefully.
