Tacoma Hotel Worker Shoots Trespasser Who Brandished Knife: Police
The 32-year-old woman said she shot the man after he attacked employees with the weapon. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

TACOMA, WA —An employee of a local business shot a trespasser who was attacking other employees with a knife Tuesday night, according to Tacoma police.
Police said the person who was shot was a 45-year-old man, and he was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. When released, the suspect will be booked into jail on three counts of assault 1, Tacoma Police Department Spokesperson Wendy Haddow told Patch.
The shooting took place just before midnight on Tuesday in the 8800 Block of South Hosmer, police said. KATU reported that the business is a hotel, the Quality Inn and Suites Tacoma.

According to Police, the suspect was not a guest of the hotel, and he had been asked to leave the business on a previous occasion.
On Tuesday, after being asked to leave, the suspect pulled a knife and attempted to attack employees, Haddow said.

That's when a 32-year-old female shot the suspect once. The shooter then immediately called 911, according to police.
Police received the call at 11:49 p.m. and conducted an investigation at the scene, according to Haddow.
Haddow said there were no other injuries reported at the scene.
