WSP Asks For Help Finding I-5 Shooting Suspect
A shooting on I-5 southbound put one woman in the hospital. Now, troopers are hoping someone can help lead them to her attacker.
LAKEWOOD, WA — One woman is in the hospital after a shooting on I-5 this weekend, and troopers are asking the public for help catching the shooter.
The shooting took place on I-5 southbound just north of Bridgeport Way SW, troopers said. Just before 5 p.m. Sunday, the victim had been driving a white Volkswagen through the area, when someone in another car opened fire on her vehicle. A bullet through the passenger door, through the driver's right forearm, lodging in her abdomen, WSP said. She has been taken to Madigan Medical Center for treatment, and is expected to recover.
However, the shooter is still on the loose. WSP says its investigators have no leads on what kind of vehicle the shooter was driving, or on the shooter themselves. They're hoping another driver witnessed "road rage or aggressive driving behaviors" on southbound I-5 from S 84th Street and Bridgeport Way SW between 4:45 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Sunday. If you did, troopers ask that you call Detective Kevin Pratt at (253) 538-3173 immediately.
