Catch the Luck of the Irish This Weekend in Puyallup's Pubs

Local bars and restaurants will be spreading Irish cheer with lots of green beer, corned beef and cabbage this weekend, plus live music, dancing and lots of karaoke.

The luck of the Irish can be found in Puyallup, as many local bars and restaurants are hosting weekend-long parties in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, which is Sunday, March 17, 2013.

Don’t forget to designate a sober driver to get you home after too much green ale, or call a taxi. There will be a DUI emphasis patrol in downtown Puyallup on Saturday night and extra patrols looking for drunk drivers on Friday and Sunday, said Puyallup Police Capt. Scott Engle.

The Puyallup Main Street Association's annual family-friendly Celtic Faire has been cancelled this year. PMSA posted this announcement about the event cancellation on their Facebook page:

Puyallup Main Street Association has put Celtic Faire on the back burner for 2013. Each year we invite the Celtic Clans to join our merchants in their shops and celebrate our Celtic heritage with everyone. When St Patty’s Day falls on a weekend, it’s hard for us to compete with Seattle in obtaining the Celtic clans. This year we opt to support our downtown merchants in their own merriment. There are still a lot of Celtic celebrations going on throughout downtown.

Even without the parade, there are a lot of special events happening in town this weekend. Check out our top picks below!Β
