The South Hill Community Council has been proud to present a Community Tree Lighting Event for the past 16 years. Starting out as a small gathering first at Ballou Jr. High, then in the Fire Station on 128th Street, it has grown to be a large celebration of over 400 community residents.
Events kick off at Meridian Habitat Park and Community Center at 5 p.m. on Saturday and include:
Welcome and introductions
Flag ceremony by U.S. Naval Sea
Cadets Corps
Hunt Elementary choir performance
Zeiger Elementary choir performance
Decorating of the community tree
Closing remarks
Lighting of outdoor tree
Photos with Santa Claus
