In her most recent post, What is a Back Up Offer?, Johnston explains the local real estate market's shift from a Buyer’s Market to a Seller’s Market. 

"Many home buyers are finding that that they are having to write several offers just to buy ONE house and they are getting frustrated," she wrote.

However, these hot properties sometimes find their way back on the market, and a back up offer can put a frusterated homebuyer first in line.
