Five Hondas Stolen in One Night, Drunk Sex Offender Found Sleeping in Grass Outside South Hill Business

JUNE 13, 2013
Vehicle Theft:Β A 2006 Ford F-150 was stolen from the NW Motorsports location on Valley Ave. NE. It was traded in the day before and gone within 24 hours.
Burglary:Β Unknown people broke into a shed on 14th St. SW and stole lawn equipment and a crossbow. They attempted to break into the home but were unsuccessful. A weed eater and leaf blower were also stolen.

DUI collision:Β A three-car DUI collision blocked traffic on River Road during the evening commute.Β Read more on Puyallup Patch.
DUI/Hit and Run:Β A 40 year-old female driver was arrested after causing a minor collision on the 1500 block of South Meridian. She was drinking in Federal Way.

Vehicle Recovery:Β An officer located a stolen car on the 400 block of Todd Road. It had been "stripped of the good stuff" and was doused with gasoline inside and out, PPD report. It appears the suspects were preparing to torch the car but got spooked.
Vehicle Prowl:Β The windows of a Ford Mustang, parked in the B&B Auto lot, were smashed out and a CD player was stolen from the car.
DUI Collision:Β A man who hadΒ just dropped his friend off at the police station for an outstanding warrant struck the vehicle in front of him. He showed signs of marijuana impairment.

Felony Warrants:Β A suspicious vehicle with expired plates was stopped by school patrol outside Puyallup High School. The driver lied about who he was and said he was looking for the courthouse. He had numerous felony and misdemeanor warrants from several different jurisdictions, plus a suspended license.
Commercial Burglary:Β Unknown suspects cut a chain link fence outside a commercial property on 10th St. SE and stole approximately $3,000 in copper piping.
JUNE 11, 2013
Warrant Arrest:Β Officers made contact with a suspicious vehicle on the 600 block of S. Meridian. Three of the four occupants had outstanding warrants, and it was apparent they were buying or selling heroin around the apartments on the 100 block of 4th Ave. SE, next door to Safeway.
Shoplifting/MIP:Β A 19 year-old was arrested for stealing vodka from Wal Mart.
Attempted Burglary:Β Unknown suspects attempted to pry a homeownerβs door open with no success on 5th Ave. NE. A knife that was used by the suspect was still wedged between the door and doorframe.

Bike Theft:Β A 20 year-old black Huffy bicycle was stolen from inside a fenced yard on 3rd St. SW.
Suicide:Β A man was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his apartment inΒ the Meridian Firs complex. He was discovered by management after they realized he hadnβt paid his rent yet.
Suspicious Vehicle:Β An off-duty officer spotted a suspicious vehicle in the Fred Meyer parking lot. Stripped wires and miscellaneous property were foundΒ inside. A female was arrested for driving with a suspended license and admitted to being a drug user.Β
Walgreens:Β A vehicle had gas siphoned out of it while parked in front of Walgreens. This is a known problem in this parking lot.
Commercial Burglary:Β Unknown suspects priedΒ open several doorknobs to gain access to the building, where they stole a faucet, doorknobs and extension chords.
JUNE 9, 2013
Hit and Run:Β A driver heading southbound on 15th St. SE from the light at Pioneer lost control and struck a building on the 1500 block of E. Pioneer. He fled on foot but was taken into custody by containment at 13th St. SE and Park Ave. He struck the corner post of an awning with enough force to total the Jeep he was driving. Very little damage was done to the post.

Residential Burglary:Β A resident on 16th St. Pl. NW reported that her laptop was stolen from her home, where it was left on her desk. It appears someone stole it while she was sleeping.

Vehicle Theft:Β Five Hondas were reported stolen this evening from different parts of the city. One was stolen from outside a residence on 24th Ave. SE, another was stolen from 7th St. SE (for the second time this year), one was taken from 39th Ave. SW and the last stolen from 20th St. SE.

Sex Offender: A level one registered sex offender from Tacoma was found to be very intoxicated and sleeping on the grassy area surrounded by beer cans outside Farmers Insurance on the 4000 block of South Meridian. He is a violent offender and said he takes the bus to Puyallup. He had been previously trespassed from The RAM for stealing alcohol.
Commercial Burglary: The owner of Bullβs Eye Shooting Club in Tacoma is relocating his business to River Road in Puyallup He and the contractor smelled cigarette smoke inside the building and saw the roof hatch was open. Police and K9 responded to the scene and located a man and woman hiding inside a locked room, surrounded by miscellaneous tools and an electrical control box that had been removed from another part of the building.
