Memorial Day: What's Closed, What's Open
While most governments and services will be closed, find out which businesses and services will be available throughout Puyallup.
Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day, and the three-day weekend means some places in Puyallup will be closed.
Here is a list of things you need to know:
CLOSED
- Government offices, including all federal, state, Pierce County and City of Puyallup
- Schools, including Puyallup School District, Pierce College and Tacoma Community College
- U.S. Post Office, UPS and FedEx
- Puyallup Public Library and Pierce County Library System
- Costco
- Most banks
OPEN
- Recycling and Garbage Service: Normal pick-up schedule
- Pierce Transit: Local bus and shuttle services will operate on Sunday schedule (Offices closed; no phone service.)
- Mel Korum Family YMCA: Building, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Nursery, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Most stores and restaurants will be open as usual
