Meth User Sets McDonalds Wall on Fire, Hides Out in 7-11 Cooler

McDonalds patronsΒ in Puyallup were witness to an alarming sight on Weds., May 29, after a 48 year-old man ran in the restaurant and set a wall on fire by ripping out the wiring of a wall fixture.Β 

The man, who was apparently high on methamphetamine, believed people were chasing him and ran into the restaurant, located on 2nd Ave. NE. He pulled two wires from a wall fixture and arched them together, which immediately ignited the wall, according to the Puyallup Police report.

The fire was quickly extinguished by employees but it did cause some damage.Β 

The man ran into the nearby 7-11, where he promptly hid in the employee access cooler, until contacted by officers.

He was arrested for arson, malicious mischief and trespassing.Β
