Puyallup Bus Riders See Changes to Pierce Transit Routes

Pierce Transit introduced its bus service changes on Sunday, June 9.

Due to transit operator attrition, Pierce Transit has cut numerous services,  including those in Puyallup, in order to keep the buses moving throughout the system.

"Pierce Transit continues its commitment to finding everyday efficiencies and seeking new revenues in order to preserve as much service for our customers as possible with the resources available," according to the Pierce Transit website.

Route 400 
Weekdays, eliminated trips from 10th & Commerce are: 5:47 a.m., 6:44 a.m., 8:48 a.m. and 8:18 p.m.. The 5:45 p.m. trip from South Hill Mall TC is eliminated.

Route 402 
Weekdays, the 6:41 p.m. trip from 171st & Meridian ends at Meridian & Emerald. The Saturday 6:09 p.m. and the Sunday 8:09 a.m. trips from 171st & Meridian are eliminated.

Route 409 
Weekdays: the 5:40 a.m. and 7:43 p.m. trips from 29th St & 5th Ave are eliminated. The 6:20 a.m. trip from 72nd St TC is eliminated; the 7:20 p.m. trip from 72nd St TC now ends at Puyallup Sounder Station. The Saturday 8:45 a.m. trip from 72nd St TC and the Sunday 5:15 p.m. trip from Puyallup Sounder Station are eliminated.

Route 410 

Weekdays, the 8:45 p.m. from South Hill Mall TC is eliminated. Route 500 Saturdays, the 9:55 p.m. trip from 10th & Commerce and the 9:55 p.m. trip from Federal Way TC are eliminated.

Route 501 

Weekdays: the 8:07 p.m. trip from 10th & Commerce will end at Meridian & Emerald, the 8:16 p.m. trip from Federal Way TC is modified and now begins at Meridian & Emerald at 8:39 p.m. On Sundays, the 8:15 a.m. trip from Federal Way TC is eliminated.
