Puyallup School District: Bus Run Suspension Update As Of November 10

As we navigate the district’s transportation crisis, information continues to evolve and rapidly change.

The following bus runs at the following schools have been reinstated and will not be suspended on Nov. 22 as originally communicated to families.

We understand any news regarding the temporary suspension of bus runs creates an incredible disruption and has very real consequences.

Suspending bus runs is absolutely the last resort.

Due to the latest efforts of our bus drivers, transportation staff, and district leaders we were able to consolidate runs without suspending them altogether.

We are thankful for these efforts and continue to be committed to relaying information that provides families enough time to plan.

UPDATED: Bus Runs/Routes to be suspended beginning Nov. 22

What is happening now …

The district will continue to problem solve every possible way we can get students to school. As such, there is a possibility that more runs will be reinstated based on this work, but we are committed to providing families with enough time to plan for transportation in a ‘worst case scenario.’ Everything from walking school bus groups, to using technology to connect families with carpools, is being considered.

In addition, we encourage families to coordinate neighborhood carpools by sharing bus stop locations of the runs that will be temporarily suspended.

We value our bus drivers and are incredibly thankful for their ongoing commitment during this time to service more runs than we have drivers for.
