Sewing and Stitchery Expo Happening This Weekend at Puyallup Fairgrounds
The largest consumer sewing show in America kicks off Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 and continues through the weekend at the Puyallup Fairgrounds.

Large crowds of up to 30,000 are expected at the Puyallup Fairgrounds this weekend, thanks to the Sewing & Stitchery Expo that kicks off Thursday and runs through Sunday.
βThis is a big show. Expect congestion and delays on S. Meridian this weekend,β Puyallup Police tweeted.Β Puyallup Police Capt. Scott Engle told Patch there are no local road closures associated with the event.
The Expo includes a vendor floor and βnon-stopβ roster of demos on the Free Stage, plus professional models on the runway presenting six different free style shows each day.

There are lots of hands-on classes too, where participants can learn a new technique and leave with a finished project.
βSew Expo has something for every sewing enthusiastβwith more than 100 seminars daily, hands-on workshops, a variety of style shows and 400-plus boothsβ¦ itβs like planning a party for 30,000 of your best friends,β said Joanne Ross, the expo director. βWe have guests from every state, Canada, Australia and Europe. Attendees all over the world plan their annual calendar around [this event].β

Online registration for the event is closed, but tickets are still available at the ticket booth in the Showplex building.Β
