South Hill Home Gutted By Fire Early Friday: Central Pierce

Four adults and one dog lost everything Friday morning when their South Hill-area home was destroyed in a blaze.

SOUTH HILL, WA - A house fire in the South Hill area early Friday completely gutted a home, displacing four adults and one dog, none of whom were hurt in the blaze, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Fire crews were dispatched the area of 126th Avenue and 136th Street east around 4 a.m. April 5. By the time firefighters arrived on scene flames were already pouring through the roof of the home, CPFR Capt. Darrin Shaw told Patch.

Central Pierce crews first took an offensive approach before switching to a defensive stance to extinguish the flames, which firefighters did after battling for about an hour, Shaw said.
