Suspect Vehicle Recovered in Hit and Run Case That Sent Puyallup Teen to Hospital

A white 1997 Chevrolet Suburban recovered from Yelm has been determined to be the car that hit 15-year-old Chloe Williams in a crosswalk on W. Stewart Avenue NW.

Two months later, there is finally a break in the hit-and-run case that shocked the Puyallup community and sent a teen girl to the hospital.

Police and fire responded to a hit and run on March 14, 2013. They found 15 year-old Chloe Williams down in the street, after she was hit while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk onΒ West Stewart Ave.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, members of the Puyallup Police DepartmentΒ Major Collision Response Team (MCRT) recovered the hit and runΒ suspect vehicle in this case, according to a press release from the department.

The vehicle, a white 1997 ChevroletΒ Suburban, was recovered in the Yelm area. MCRT officers had received anonymous information via tips to CrimeΒ Stoppers that led them to the Yelm area where they eventually located theΒ vehicle.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2013, MCRT officers executed an evidentiary searchΒ warrant on the vehicle. The vehicle continues to be held as evidence inΒ this case. MCRT officers continue to investigate this case.
