A 3-car collision caused by a drunk driver on the 300 block of River Road has two of three eastbound lanes blocked, according to Puyallup Police.

The 53 year-old female driver who caused the accident had been drinking at the R&R Tavern andΒ rear ended a suburban. She then backed up into the vehicle behind her, before going forward and pushing the suburban up onto the curb and spinning it around. She was over the legal limit.Β

The collision occurred around 6 p.m. --just in time for rush hour.Β

Traffic is being diverted to southbound 4th St. NW until the road can reopen. The backup is wellΒ past 11 St NW now and Puyallup PD advises drivers to take alternate roads, like Levee Road or West Stewart Ave.Β

Injuries to the drivers are minimal, police say.
