PIERCE COUNTY, WA β€” Calling all bikers, walkers, skateboarders or anyone else who uses active transportation!

Pierce County has launched a new Active Transportation Survey, asking local residents where they like to walk, bike or roll. The survey only takes about 5-10 minutes, organizers say, but will help the county as it develops more active transportation options.

β€œThe survey results will help Pierce County better understand the mobility patterns and needs of residents as we develop our Active Transportation Plan,” said Brian D. Stacy, P.E., Pierce County Planning and Public Works county engineer.

According to the county, active transportation includes pedestrians, bicyclists, skaters, and anyone else who travels by human-powered means over sidewalks, trails or bike lanes.

The survey can be taken online, or, if you prefer, you can print out a copy and mail it to PPW Transportation Planning at 2702 South 42nd St. Suite 109 Tacoma, WA 98409.
