Cashier Shot In Armed Gas Station Robbery: Pierce County Sheriff
WARNING: The Pierce County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday shared security video of the armed robbery that occurred overnight.
TACOMA, WA - One man is in serious condition after being shot during an armed gas station robbery in the Midland area early Wednesday, and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department shared surveillance video that captured the entire incident. Anyone who may be able to identify the suspect is asked to contact PCSD detectives.
The armed robbery reportedly occurred at 1 a.m. April 17 at the 76 gas station food mart, located at 9815 Golden Given Rd. E. The edited video, which was shared on Facebook with a graphic warning disclaimer, begins the moment the armed robber clumsily enters the convenience store.
In the video, after opening the door, the masked suspect can be seen rushing behind the counter with his gun raised. Striking the clerk in the face, the gunman then menaces the clerk with the weapon, eventually pushing him to the floor and reportedly shooting him β though that specific 30-second moment is removed from the video.

Seemingly after the shooting, the video then jumps to the moment the suspect runs from behind the counter, stuffing a handful of cash into his pocket.
The suspect then escapes the scene but returns to the store roughly 20 seconds later.

Running back into the food mart, the still-masked suspect once again rushes behind the counter. Aiming his weapon off-screen, the suspect walks backward to the register and retrieves more cash and coin.
The video ends after the suspect slowly strolls through the store and out the front doors, back into the night.
Detectives describe the suspect as a black man in his 20s, roughly 5-foot-10 and around 200 pounds.
