Woman Arrested, Accused Of Arson At Tacoma Apartment Complex

The suspect was injured in the blaze, and had to be briefly hospitalized.

TACOMA, WA β€” The Tacoma Police Department has arrested a 35-year-old woman, who officers say they believe is responsible for an apartment fire late Wednesday night.

According to police, just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, officers and firefighters were called to an apartment on fire in the 300 block of S 9th Street.

After firefighters got the blaze under control, Tacoma Fire Department investigators determined that the fire had been intentionally set. After interviewing several witnesses, police identified a 35-year-old woman as the primary suspect.

The woman had to be taken to a nearby hospital for a quick medical evaluation, but since been booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first degree arson.
