WSP Seeks Help Catching Hit-And-Run Driver

Troopers are hoping the public can identify a hit-and-run vehicle that seriously injured another driver in Tacoma.

TACOMA, WA β€” Washington State Patrol troopers are trying to track down a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured some in Tacoma earlier this week- and they think the public may be able to help them do it.

According to troopers, the incident happened around 7:38 p.m. Wednesday on I-5. Witnesses say that first, a dark-colored Dodge RAM pickup rear-ended a semi-trailer on the freeway. Then, on the exit ramp from I-5 to westbound S 38th, that same RAM pickup slammed into the driver's side door of a Nissan D21. The driver of the Nissan was seriously injured.

Instead of stopping for either crash, the RAM sped away, and was last seen passing Titus-Will Ford northbound on S Sprague Avenue.

Witnesses describe the RAM's as a bald white male. As for his car, debris from the scene indicates that it's either dark gray black, and likely has extensive damage to the front end from both collisions.

Anyone who knows anything about this case or who can identify a suspect, is asked to contact WSP's Detective Kevin Pratt at 253-538-3178.
