RENTON, WA — The Renton Police Department's recent "BLITZ" operation targeting retail theft netted a dozen arrests in just a few hours, officials announced Wednesday.

Members of the department's special enforcement team and patrol unit teamed up with loss prevention staff at Target and Lowes, which police said led to 12 arrests and thousands of dollars in stolen goods recovered.

Each suspect faces various charges related to theft. Police said this month's operation was just one in many to come.
