RENTON, WA — King County residents have a unique option to offload their Christmas trees while helping out some furry friends. The Sammamish Animal Sanctuary, now located in Renton, helps provide food, care and shelter to animals in need, including goats, pigs, llamas and horses.

The animal sanctuary told KING 5 this week that residents are welcome to haul their Christmas tree over to the May Valley Road facility, where animals can enjoy a holiday feast that provides nutritional value and natural deworming. Since the sanctuary only has limited space, they are asking that donations are limited to household Christmas trees and not unsold commercial inventory.

Reservations are not required, but the sanctuary asks that donors remove any tinsel, lights and other decorations before dropping trees off.
