Community Leader Diane Dobson Joins Renton Baseball Booster Club

The Renton Baseball Booster Club exists to foster inner-city baseball at Renton High School by providing equipment, training and support.

Longtime community leader Diane Dobson has joined the board of the Renton Baseball Booster Club. Ms. Dobson is known for being the youngest person to receive Renton's Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award and Coach of the Year. She also ran for City Council in the last election.

"We're thrilled to have Diane Dobson join the Renton Baseball Booster Club. Her passion to connect people for improving the community will be a big boost to our efforts," said Bob Elliot, President.

The Renton Baseball Booster Club, a non profit group, exists to foster inner-city baseball at Renton High School by providing equipment, training and support. It also encourages the entire community to enjoy competitive baseball in Downtown Renton for free.

This Spring season both Renton High Varsity and Junior Varsity home baseball games will be played at Liberty Park. Half of team members come from low income households and many haven't played baseball before high school.

"As a former coach, I know how sports teaches our young people about the value of hard-work, teamwork and developing skills. I'm excited to be part of this effort that helps young men learn skills and habits that will be beneficial to them and our community for a lifetime," said Diane Dobson.

The Renton Baseball Booster Club encourages the whole community to support Renton High Baseball this Spring. Under the leadership of Varsity Coach Chris Fedor and coaching staff it's going to be an exciting season of baseball in Renton. Play Ball!
