Last Day For Produce, Music, Entertainment At Renton Farmers Market , Sept. 27

The 17th and final of the 2011 season will take place today, Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 3-7 p.m.
Executive Chef Jason Rice of (in Renton and West Seattle) will provide the chef’s demonstration this week. He has prepped 300 mini pie shells for the demo, said . Stop by between 4:30-5 p.m. for the free demo and dessert tasting.
The market will go out with a musical bang on the entertainment stage with Biff Moss and Darrell Data. The two “market favorites” have played separately at the market already this year, but will return for a duo performance from 5:30-6:30 p.m., said Lopez.

Another highlight for the Sept. 26 market will be a return appearance of the King County Master Recycler Program, back by popular demand. Program participants will be at the community desk in the Piazza along 3rd Avenue South.
Weather at the market has been exceptional this year with only a single soggy day, on . Lopez hopes the rain will hold off for the final day of the 2011 season.

This year Renton Residents enjoyed more market options than ever before. In addition to the Downtown Renton Market with an average of 55 vendors, Renton partnered with Valley Medical Center this year for the , which ran June 12-Sept. 18 on Sundays from noon- 4 p.m. and averaged 12 vendors each week.
