The Forgotten Children's Fund brings gifts and joy for nearly 50 years (rentonreporter.com) — Families in Renton, including the Renton Highlands, are among those receiving full Santa-style home visits, gifts, and even furniture from the Forgotten Children’s Fund. The all-volunteer group serves hundreds of western Washington families each year, runs a “North Pole” warehouse in Kent, and is seeking donations and volunteers to keep helping working families who are struggling to make ends meet.
   

2. Auburn man charged with vehicular assault after motorcycle crash in Renton (kentreporter.com) — A man is facing felony charges after an alleged road rage crash in Renton that left a motorcyclist with severe head and neck injuries near SE Petrovitsky Road and 108th Avenue SE. Prosecutors say witnesses, including a van of Boy Scouts, reported the Jeep aggressively swerved and chased the motorcycle before striking it. The driver remains jailed in King County as the victim recovers in intensive care.
   

3. Defendant in 2024 Renton stabbing death acquitted (rentonreporter.com) — A Renton resident has been acquitted in the 2024 stabbing death that happened in a Renton home, after a jury accepted his self-defense claim. Prosecutors argued he was the aggressor, while the defense said he lawfully used force after retreating indoors. The case hinged on Washington’s self-defense and home-protection laws, and the jury deliberated for about two days before reaching its decision.
   

4. Seahawks' Leonard Williams defends suspended teammate (seattletimes.com) — From their Renton headquarters, the Seahawks are adjusting after linebacker Derick Hall was suspended one game for a play that injured a Rams lineman, with teammate Leonard Williams publicly backing Hall’s character.
