Renton Police Department will get more AI technology (kentreporter.com) — Renton is investing $1.56 million in expanded AI-powered tools for its police department, including upgraded body cameras with real-time translation, a real-time crime center, and new drone capabilities. The 10-year Axon contract extension also brings Taser 10 devices and ongoing annual costs around $1 million, with officials saying the upgrades aim to boost safety, efficiency, and transparency.

Margaret "Peggy" Sperling Timm (March 3, 1926 (sweetwaternow.com) — Family and friends in Renton are among those mourning Margaret “Peggy” Sperling Timm, a 99-year-old mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose son Frederick and his wife Deb live in Renton.
