AUBURN, WA — After a brief pause in scheduling for new appointments, Public Health - Seattle & King County announced Thursday that more slots were available for South King County residents at the Auburn mass vaccination site.

Initially, the county had planned to provide the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the site through at least the end of the week. Following a nationwide pause, as federal health experts investigate reports of rare blood clots, Auburn shifted to Moderna vaccines.

The site will continue to use Moderna doses for new appointments, which are authorized for use in people 18 and older. As of Thursday, all Washingtonians ages 16 and older qualify for vaccine appointments, but only the Pfizer vaccine is cleared for use in 16 and 17-year-olds.
