November Is Diabetes Awarness Month, Get Screened At Uwajimaya

Uwajimaya will host free diabetes screenings on Friday, Nov. 18 from 1-6 p.m.

On Friday, Nov. 18 the store will offer a host of activities starting with free diabetes screenings by representatives with the American Diabetes Association from 1-6 p.m. Diabetes affects nearly 26 million people across the United States.

After the screening, walk the isles for health demos and food and drink samples, including Sake samples for customers 21 years of age and older.

Puget Sound Energy representatives will also be at the store on Friday from 2-6 p.m. to hand out free energy-saving CFL bulbs and low-flow showerheads.

Uwajimaya will sell year of the rabbit stickers for $1 through Nov. 20. Proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association.
