• Renton revises business license fee exemptions (rentonreporter.com) — Renton has raised its business license fee exemption threshold for out-of-city businesses with under $4,000 in annual Renton receipts, sparing them the $150 license fee starting Jan. 1, 2026. The change aligns with state-level guidance and will adjust every four years with inflation, while in-city businesses remain unaffected by this amendment.
   

• Police investigate possible kidnapping of two children in Lakewood (kiro7.com) — Renton residents are being asked to watch for two missing children and their mother, whose last known location was in Renton and who may be armed. Lakewood police say the mother did not return the children after a visit and may have taken them to Renton, and urge anyone who spots them to call 911 immediately.
