Public Meeting on Possible VMC-UW Alliance

Renton residents can weigh in on the proposed alliance between UW Medicine and Valley Medical Center tonight, in downtown Renton at the , located next to .

Early this year, . 

The partnership is expected to accomplish a number of goals including increased access to healthcare services for South King County residents; more efficient patient care; improve best practice models for UW Medical and VMC; expand clinical, teaching and research programs; and better position the VMC and UW Medicine for future healthcare reform. 

These meetings will provide a platform for public comments and questions.

The first of six public information meetings was held at the Kent Senior Activity Center in February.

Here's a schedule for the remaining meetings:

March 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton

March 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Coal Creek YMCA in Newcastle

March 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Covington City Hall

March 18 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Lake Wilderness Lodge in Maple Valley

March 29 from 6-8 p.m.  at SeaTac City Hall
