Renton's latest vaccine outreach comes as state and county health leaders continue to shift immunization strategies to reach more younger people and bring vaccines directly to where people live, work and visit. As of Monday, more than 70 percent of King County residents 12 and older had received at least one dose, and 56.5 percent were fully vaccinated, meaning two weeks past their final dose.

Overall immunization rates in Renton and South King County are a bit lower than the average, and thousands are still in need of a dose.

The county's goal is to hit the 70 percent fully-vaccinated mark before the state reopens on June 30, which will also allow for Public Health - Seattle & King County to rescind its recently reimposed indoor mask mandate.
