Renton HS Dancers Need Your Help To Win At Bubblin Brown Sugar

Here's how you can help the Renton High School Black Student Union dancers win one of the biggest dance contests in the state.

RENTON, WA - The Renton High School Black Student Union dance team wants to win this year's Bubblin Brown Sugar dance competition - and they need your help to do it.

The BSU team is putting together a top-secret routine (seriously, they wouldn't tell us) for the competition, and they need new costumes for it. Each costume costs about $100, which is a hefty price for the 18-member team.

The team started a fundraiser to pay for the costumes, and as of Thursday were just a few hundred dollars away from hitting their goal.

"With Bubblin Brown Sugar being so much more competitive, everything about our routine has to be top-notch," team member Arianne Wilcox told Patch.

Bubblin Brown Sugar has been an annual tradition at Garfield High School in Seattle for decades. Dance teams from around the region compete. This year, the Renton High School team wants to really make its name known in the Seattle area.
