RENTON, WA — Crews began plowing Renton's main and secondary roads at around 10 p.m. yesterday, but they may not be able to get to neighborhoods until tomorrow, officials said.

In a "Severe Weather Update" posted to the city of Renton's website at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, the city outlined its response to last night's latest round of snow — including its plowing status.

The day crew will likely be removing snow from main and secondary roads all day today and into tonight before it can move on to smaller streets, officials said in the alert.

Waste Collection

Republic Services will not collect trash and recycling today due to the wintry conditions, the alert said. The city's Solid Waste Division is working to provide an alternate collection method, which will be posted when it's finalized.

The shelter can fit 22-25 people and has separate sleeping spaces for single women, single men, couples, and families with children. Officials will provide snacks, food and warm beverages.
