Police said the suspect shot a man six times before fleeing the scene earlier this month.
RENTON, WA — The Valley SWAT team arrested a man Thursday morning who police said was wanted in connection with a shooting that left a man in the hospital earlier this month. In a news release, Renton police named DaJuan Smith, 33, as their suspect and allege that he approached a 28-year-old man sitting in a vehicle on South 3rd Street and shot him six times before running from the scene.
Members of the SWAT team served a warrant at a Lynnwood home Thursday morning, and police said officers took Smith into custody without incident. Detectives booked him into the King County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. Police said the shooting investigation and arrest were completed with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
The man who was shot is still recovering at a local hospital.
