Renton Seniors celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Pancake Breakfast
Knights of Columbus made Renton seniors the luckiest in region with Free Breakfast on St. Patrick's Day
The Knights of Columbus with St. Anthony Parish made Renton seniors the luckiest ones in the region on St. Patrick's Day with a free pancake breakfast at the Renton Senior Center. More than 100 people enjoyed a delicious breakfast that included pancakes, sausages, eggs, applesauce, juice and beverages. While Knights worked hard cooking, Boys Scouts helped by serving food and beverages.
Guests remarked how much they enjoyed the breakfast and how it gave many an opportunity to get out of the house. A new Renton senior, Fr. Louis Emil, parochial vicar at St. Anthony Parish, experienced his first St. Patrick's Day celebration since his recent arrival from Ghana. He joined in the fun by putting on a green Knights of Columbus t-shirt and St. Patrick's themed hat. "It's great that you have such historical celebrations."
This was the 33rd Annual Free Pancake Breakfast for Renton Seniors organized by the Knights of Columbus. Kudos to estate attorney Dan Kellogg of Renton/Kent who was the financial sponsor. Kudos also to the Boys Scouts for serving and for the City of Renton for making the Renton Senior Activity Center available free of charge and for helping to promote the event.
