Renton's Kennydale Beach Park Temporarily Closing For Playground Work
The park will be closed from Monday through late May for the installation of new equipment like: slides, climbers and a rope bridge.

RENTON, WA —The city of Renton has announced that Kennydale Beach Park will be closing temporarily after this weekend while new playground equipment is installed.
The park, located at 3601 Lake Washington Blvd. N, will be closed from Monday through late May for a project that will replace aging equipment with equipment that meets new safety requirements for sand play surfaces.
According to the city of Renton, the new playground will feature equipment for ages 2 to 12 and will include: a variety of slides, climbers and rope bridges. Ground-level components will consist of a storefront panel, steppers, a balance beam and sand diggers.

In addition, a fabric shade will be installed to cover the 2-to-5-year-old play structure, while a stand-alone shade structure will expand the amount of sheltered space for sand play or gathering, according to the city.
The Kennydale Beach Park playground replacement is the sixth playground replacement overseen by the city's Parks Planning and Development Division since 2018. Funding for the projects is provided by the Capital Improvement Program.
