Seahawks' Doug Baldwin Helps Raise Funds For Renton Schools

Baldwin appeared at the Friends of Renton Schools annual breakfast along with Blitz, the Seahawks mascot.

RENTON, WA - The Renton School District got a fundraising boost Monday from Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin. Baldwin attended the annual Friends of Renton Schools breakfast and was the keynote speaker. The Friends of Renton Schools is a nonprofit that provides supplemental funding for Renton education programs.

Baldwin was also joined by Blitz, the Seahawks mascot. However, Blitz seemed a little annoyed he had to leave his nest so early.

In addition to attending the breakfast, Baldwin, a Stanford graduate, is helping the city and school district build a community center near Cascade Elementary School. The Family First Community Center will provide services like childcare, English as a second language classes, music, technology - and, of course, sports.
