VIDEO: Renton Annual Art Show Opening Night

Stop by the Renton Community Center through Sunday to view and purchase art and enjoy live music.

Local artists, collectors and supporters usher in the 51st Renton Annual Art Show on Thursday evening at the with a preview party and live music by Uptown Lowdown Swing. The show is part of the 26th Annual Celebration and is open through Sunday, July 24.

, the first coordinator for Renton River Days, presented the 'main show,' 'little gallery' and 'student show' awards along with Vicki Faull, art show chair.

"When you're my age, 51 seems pretty young," Baker said of the show's longevity, which she attributes to tireless volunteer support. "But when you're young, like these student artists, 51 seems pretty old," she said before presenting the student show awards. Instead of cash prizes, the budding artists received art supplies.

The art show will continue at the Renton Community Center at 1715 Maple Valley Highway through the weekend, July 22-23 from 10a.m.-6p.m. and July 24 from noon-5p.m.
