  1. In Parkersburg, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended three individuals in separate homicide cases. The first arrest involved a 30-year-old man who had evaded authorities since 2017 after being involved in a home invasion and fatal shooting. The second arrest was of a 27-year-old man wanted for a shooting outside a Dollar General store, and the third arrest was of a 34-year-old woman accused of running over and killing the father of her children. These arrests bring closure to the affected families and provide a sense of relief to the community. (ABC 5 Cleveland)
  2. West Virginians for Energy Freedom is hosting a community meeting today (Jun. 30) at 6:00 p.m. in Shelter 11 at City Park in Parkersburg. The event invites residents from the area to learn about energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other options for controlling their energy bills. The event aims to empower attendees and discuss topics such as the workings of the West Virginia Public Service Commission, rate increases, subsidies, and resources for becoming self-reliant in energy.   3. The West Virginia Oil Marketers & Grocers Association (OMEGA) in Parkersburg successfully raised over $132,000 through their "Every Child Deserves a Loving Home Mother's Day Campaign." The funds will be donated to the Children's Home Society of West Virginia to support their initiatives in finding foster and adoptive homes for children, aiding emergency child shelters, and maintaining resource centers. OMEGA's efforts have raised nearly $3.3 million since 2003 to support various initiatives for West Virginia's children. (WTAP)
