  1. The 2023 edition of the "Anthology of Appalachian Writers, Barbara Kingsolver Volume 15" includes contributions from three writers from the Ohio Valley region: Kari Gunter-Seymour, Randi Ward, and Karen Whittington Nelson. Published by Shepherd University, the anthology features fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, essays, and photographs. The anthology will be showcased at the Anthology Celebration during the Appalachian Heritage Festival, and a photographic art exhibit featuring the visual art in the volume will be held at the Shepherd University Scarborough Library.   2. West Virginia University at Parkersburg is organizing two informational sessions on Jun. 27 to introduce the new cosmetology program. The sessions, held at the Workforce and Economic Development building, aim to assist prospective students in initiating their academic journey in the college's School of Cosmetology and Esthetics.
