Bayside Picnic Rained Out
It won't be long until Bayside gets together for another community celebration on Oct. 27.
All of the hard work that Bayside officials put into organizing the village's annual picnic party unfortunately went to waste Saturday afternoon.
The picnic, scheduled to run from noon to 5 p.m., was canceled at 2 p.m. after 1.3 inches of rain and a significant amount of lightning, according to Bayside's Tuesday Talk newsletter. There is no make up date for the picnic, but the village plans to have a Fright Night celebration on October 27.
Bayside's annual picnic was set to be the second part of a fun two-day weekend in the village. On Friday night, the village held its first-ever 5k run/walk, which attracted 186 participants and more than $450 in donations for the MACC Fund. Here's a breakdown of the 5k race results.
