Nicolet Rec. Dept. Offering How To Write A Winning College Essay

This presentation/discussion will provide students with the tools and perspective necessary to jump-start the college essay writing process.

This presentation/discussion will provide students with the tools and perspective necessary to jump-start the college essay writing process. Specific topics include the role of the personal statement in the college application process, preparation tips, topic selection, writing strategies, mastering the personal narrative writing style and avoidance of common mistakes. This course will also cover the UW Madison essay prompts and address guidelines for completing college specific supplemental essays to the Common Application. Parents are encouraged to attend.

*Sharon Madnek is an experienced college application essay consultant and owner of “Say It Write”. Ms. Madnek coaches students both privately and through the Nicolet High School Recreation Department, and is a featured speaker at the annual meeting of the NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counselors) in Milwaukee. Ms. Madnek earned a BBA from UW-Madison and an MBA from Northwestern University, and previously worked in marketing and communications for Pepsi-Cola Company and Lever Brothers Company in New York City.
