Green Bay Public Market seeks two-year extension without asking for additional city funds (fox11online.com) — Green Bay’s planned Public Market is asking the city’s Redevelopment Authority for two more years to finish construction, pushing completion from December 2025 to December 2027 without seeking extra city money. The $8.5 million project on Broadway has hit cost-related delays but remains mostly fundraised, and the RDA will review the extension request at City Hall on Tuesday afternoon. 
2. Trial date set in ‘Uncle Fester' drug case (wtaq.com) — A high-profile Green Bay resident known as “Uncle Fester” now has a May 18 trial date on multiple drug-related charges tied to his Baird Street home. He also faces a separate city lawsuit seeking to label the property a public nuisance that could be sold or torn down, while additional criminal cases proceed in Brown and Waupaca counties.
3. Flu activity remains high following the holidays (wbay.com) — Green Bay doctors are warning that flu activity remains very high locally as residents return to work and school after the holidays. Clinics report more patients with respiratory symptoms and urge people with high fevers or body aches to seek care quickly, since antiviral medications work best within 48 hours. Health officials also say it’s still worthwhile to get a flu shot.
4. Phoenix keep climbing: Green Bay rolls past IU Indy for third straight win (wearegreenbay.com) — Green Bay’s men’s basketball team pushed its winning streak to three with a 75–59 victory over IU Indy at the Kress Events Center, staying within a game of first in the Horizon League. Local guard Preston Ruedinger scored 24, and fans are being urged to pack the Kress for Sunday’s pivotal home matchup against Northern Kentucky at 1 p.m.
5. Legislators concerned as WisEye blackout continues due to lack of funding (wbay.com) — From Green Bay, lawmakers are voicing alarm as WisconsinEye, the state’s C‑SPAN-style channel, remains dark because of funding shortfalls. With only temporary state help used up, the nonprofit is warning its vast archive and live coverage could stay offline unless new public or legislative support emerges.
