'Everywhere, Selflessly Serving': Greendale Resident Called Hero

GREENDALE, WI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

How do you know the local hero?

What does the local hero do?

Karyn is everywhere, selflessly serving wherever she can. She cheers the loudest at local school sports events because she knows the kids playing (none of them are hers). She’s in every parade because she worked tirelessly putting it together. If there’s a committee; she’s on it because she knows of you want to see something happen you need to be involved. Just a tremendous servant heart that truly cares for people and loves her community.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

Karyn has put in endless hours and energy with very little thanks because people don’t realize it is her doing it all. She doesn’t do it for recognition, she’s too humble for that. But I feel if she could get a little appreciation from a large entity like Patch and T-Mobile, she will see it as a tremendous honor.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

She exemplifies the caring spirit of our Greendale community
