2 Dead In 6 Different Shootings In Milwaukee On Sunday

Two people were killed in a string of separate shootings that happened in four hours in Milwaukee on Sunday night.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Two men are dead and four more are injured after six different shootings that happened within four hours in different parts of Milwaukee on Sunday.

One man in his 20s was found fatally shot on the W. Hampton Avenue and N. Evans Street intersection around 3 a.m., the Milwaukee Police Department said in a statement.

Another man between his 20s and 30s was taken to a hospital on the 5000 block of W. Chambers Street after police said they were responding to a shooting, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Four more men suffered gunshot wounds in different parts of the city. All four were taken to the hospital with nonfatal injuries. Each of the shootings happened between 11 p.m. Sunday and around 3 a.m. Monday.

Police haven't released the identities of anyone who was shot but say the incidents are still being investigated.

Milwaukee has had nine more homicides this year than in 2020 as of Dec. 13, data from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Milwaukee Homicide Database. There were 190 homicides in 2020, and there were 197 in 2021.
