$50k Reward Offered For Information On Milwaukee Mail Carrier's Death

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service offered a reward for information after a mail carrier was killed in Milwaukee on Friday.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information that leads to a conviction after a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier was killed in Milwaukee on Friday.

The reward offering comes from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The postal worker was killed in the 5000 block of North 65th Street around 4:38 p.m., the inspection service said. The suspect vehicle is an Audi Q5 SUV with tinted windows with suspects considered armed and dangerous, the service said.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel identified the letter carrier as Aundre Cross. A former co-worker and friend of Cross told the Journal Sentinel that "he never let anybody leave without a smile on their face."

In a tweet Friday, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson called the death of the postal worker "alarming."

"The postal worker in this homicide was a public servant, which makes this crime even more disturbing," Johnson wrote.
