Body Found In Crashed SUV After Being Towed To Milwaukee Lot: Police

Authorities said the body of a 17-year-old was discovered in a crashed car Monday after it was towed to a Milwaukee lot.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee police on Monday discovered a body inside the back of a severely damaged SUV that had crashed after authorities towed it to a city lot.

Officers found the body on the floor in the back of the vehicle around 11 a.m. Monday at the 3811 West Lincoln Avenue tow lot, according to a news release from the department. Police said they think the body is a 17-year-old Milwaukee teen.

The SUV was involved in a crash on North 91st Street and West Fond du Lac Avenue around 6 p.m. on Thursday, police said. The SUV, which was later determined as stolen, had crashed into a tree, police said. The 16-year-old driver was found near the crash site and hospitalized before being arrested, police said.

Police said the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office is looking into what caused the 17-year-old's death.
