The single most pressing issue facing our state is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The Economy. We must do all we can to assist business survive, grow and compete. It is crucial that we keep our economy open because all industries benefit. This has been the most challenging year for many. Some business have had to close their doors for good. In government we must reevaluate how and what we will spend money on. I think we could bring lots of relief to the state by legalizing medical and recreational marijuana. I also think the Governor should find a way to halt all approved school referendums for 24 months until we get a better understanding of the Covid crisis.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I'm a businessman, self made from the ground up. I'm a landlord who has 17 tenants at multiple properties. I have lots of responsibilities to my tenants, banks and contractors who help me with repairs. I believe in solving problems and staying financially viable. My assets exceed 250,000.00 dollars and quite frankly I'm running for office because I want to help solve problems. I'm highly educated and have a very profound understanding of how Milwaukee works.
The biggest difference between my opponent and for that matter all of the Democrats, is that I believe, most people would agree with me that they are fed up with a failing public school system, high taxes, crime, the entire Milwaukee County criminal justice system. I intend to do something about these issues.
My opponents either do nothing to solve complex problems or fuel the fire just like Govenor Evers did with terrorism is Kenosha. The Democrats may not want to take any responsibility for these acts but interestingly they will not denounce them either. And that's the difference. There will be declining real estate values if havoc continues and taxes surpass some of the suburbs.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As Alderman City of Milwaukee(2000-2004), I led the City with over 300,000,000.00 Three hundred Million dollars of Economic Development. I also saved the City over three million Dollars during the Demolition of the Park East Freeway. It was me who introduced portable concrete crushers to the City, this cut trucking fees down significantly and has helped tremendously in road reconstruction projects.
It was my vision and attention to detail that convinced developers to build up Walker Point, The Milwaukee River Condo Development, among many other streets. We added 15 Marquette University Interns to go out and work on projects to better the community. My office was open for growth. We did it!
We hosted Health Care Seminars dealing with diabetes and prenatal care. We set out to make our streets cleaner and safer. We planted trees, and even gave away Christmas trees. Frequently talked with kids at the schools urging them to do good, graduate and to shoot for the stars with higher education.
What steps should state government take to bolster economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic for local businesses?
The government can best serve the public best by staying out of the way. Secondly, the government should work with media outlets to reconsider how they report Covid with respect to the likelihood of fatality.
We now know that it is highly unlikely that people will die form Covid unless they're vulnerable, above 70 years old or suffer from a preexisting condition. The reality is that once a vaccine is approved and available, we shall cross the ethical decision on how the medication is distributed among the public. In time there will be enough medication for everyone but we really don't know when that time will be- it could be years. So, the medication will be rationed.
How will you address the calls for racial justice and police reform?
Everyone in our society must show respect to one another and especially when interacting with police. It is very important that people obey the orders of police. If people have any complaints regarding an officer they should file a complaint with their local Fire and Police Commission. It would be to the publics benefit to understand their constitutional rights and the things an officer can and cannot ask or do.
I'm against taking away/ disarming our law enforcement. Realizing that everyday the men and women who so proudly serve are being killed by very bad people. We have a crisis in America in which officers who are eligible to retire are leaving, others are resigning and were dropping our standards to become an officer simply because people just don't want to do the job.
Police reform to me, means we must solve our police department staffing issues all within underfunded budgets while trying to keep the lines of communication open with the community.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
Former Milwaukee Auxiliary Police Officer, Former Milwaukee Public Schools Substitute Teacher, Patented Inventor, Founder City of Milwaukee Graffiti Removal Project, Member Southeastern Landlord Association, Certified Lead Abatement, Businessman.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have lived in the neighborhood since 1976. My wife and I are raising our 5 children in Milwaukee. Rather than moving to the suburbs, we decided to invest in the City. We have been strong supporters of Educational initiatives and believe in School Choice. We believe Milwaukee is a great City and its people are its greatest asset. Together we can make it better. On November 3, 2020 I ask for your Vote. Thank You For your time. Angel for Assembly.
