Child Picked Up By U-Haul In Milwaukee Sparks Abduction Investigation

MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee police said they are investigating a possible abduction after a U-Haul drove off with a child Saturday morning.

The person driving the truck was seen approaching the child, described as a 10-year-old, near 39th Street and Meinecke Avenue around 11 a.m., police said.

Police said the suspect struck the child, then placed him in the U-Haul truck. After the event, the truck west down Meinecke, police said.

Authorities described the suspect as a 30-39-year-old man just over five feet tall wearing a beige baseball hat, beige shirt and beige shorts.

No missing child report has been filed since the incident, police told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Sunday. Police also told the newspaper it is possible it was not an abduction.
